Responsibilities

Forging Paths

vcfo is hiring a Consulting Controller to join our growing multi-service practice. You, along with a team of varying levels of expertise will work with clients around the Austin area.  As a Consulting Controller, you will support multiple client companies’ onsite, as well as in a virtual capacity, with daily accounting operations.  vcfo Consulting Controllers are essential to our team of professionals that help our clients build a foundation for success. 

 

The ideal candidate will thrive in a multi-client environment and have strong software skills to include NetSuite and Great Plains.  In addition to being technically savvy, the ideal candidate will be familiar with:

  • Generation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
  • Creation of management reporting package, KPI's and Dashboards
  • Create and maintain corporate forecasts, generally resident in an Excel format
  • Provide strategic and tactical support for funding activities (M&A support, due diligence, term sheet review and evaluation, development of proforma cap-table, coordination of funding close)
  • Prepare financial portion of monthly Board package
  • Development of financial policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and leadership in the enhanced use of exiting ERP systems or selection of future software as required to support financial operations
  • Demonstrate competence in billing, general ledger software, Excel type spreadsheets and overall general  knowledge of system databases and master files
  • Attend and participate in networking events to help promote vcfo's presence and brand in the market

Qualifications

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • NetSuite experience required
  • Great Plains experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required (in accounting, finance, management or a related field); MBA is preferred
  • Active CPA certification a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant Controller level experience
  • Previous public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and Revenue Recognition 
  • Experience putting together accounting policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP accounting system applications
  • Early stage and public company experience preferred
