vcfo is currently seeking a Business Development Director to own Business Development efforts in our Texas markets but focused primarily on Houston and Dallas, while providing support nationwide.  The Business Development Director’s primary objective will be to identify new channel partnerships and opportunities that fit vcfo’s Ideal Client Profile and result in closed opportunities.


In order to meet that objective, this position will be responsible for:

  • Driving vcfo’s efforts to position itself as a market leader and continually developing and deploying tactics that build brand awareness, drive leads, and increase market share
  • Sourcing, qualifying, and partnering with Managing Directors to foster new business leads and opportunities through a discovery of complex client issues
  • Maintaining and growing new business pipelines across all business lines
  • Strategically identifying opportunities to grow vcfo’s presence in the market
  • Proactively representing vcfo through attendance at various networking events to grow awareness and build relationships
  • Identifying and managing strategic partnerships


The ideal candidate will thrive in professional services environment and has the following experience and characteristics:

  • Undergraduate degree majoring in business; or related degree
  • Proven experience with prospecting, business development, lead generation and closing sales in a professional services environment
  • Previous experience and proven success selling in a consultative style to C-level clients
  • Highly organized and ability to prioritize, multi task, manage complex workload and handle pressure
  • Strong presentation skills and able to build and compile presentations to senior managers and executives with little oversight using available sales tools and PowerPoint
  • Capable of engaging in insightful dialogue with a large spectrum of clients, colleagues and partners – from enterprise C-level clients to entrepreneurial visionaries
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight, be decisive and diplomatic in all management affairs
  • Able to meet shifting client needs/priorities and is eager to collaborate and innovate in a fast-paced, creative environment
  • Results oriented team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with a CRM, Salesforce a plus
  • Proven super-user of social media channels
